Mrs R received £30,000 in compensation after a private surgeon’s medical negligence left her disfigured.

Mrs R was unhappy with the size of her breasts and suffered painful symptoms in her back. After careful consideration, she opted to undergo breast reduction surgery under the care of a private surgeon.

Unfortunately, she was left with an extremely poor post-operative outcome, with irregular shaped breasts, long and asymmetrical scarring, indentations and symmastia.

Mrs R struggled to cope with the change to her physical appearance and suffered depression as a result, causing a strain on her relationship with her partner.
Pryers investigated the care afforded to Mrs S and found that the surgical care and technique was negligent.

As part of the claim, Mrs R was seen by an independent psychiatrist who recommended counselling sessions.

With Pryers’ expertise in cosmetic surgery claims, we were able to secure an early admission of liability. The private surgeon accepted that he had been negligent and agreed to pay compensation in an out of court settlement.

Mrs R was able to use her compensation to fund reconstructive surgery and access the counselling she needed in order to move forwards with her life.
