Ian is a solicitor and specialises in clinical negligence claims against NHS Trusts, GPs and private healthcare providers.
Areas of expertise
Ian has experience investigating and resolving claims in various fields including cases resulting in fatality, failings in elderly care, errors involving orthopaedic surgery and paediatric claims requiring approval of the Court. Ian also assists a team of solicitors in higher value and complex claims involving life changing injuries.
Ian graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Law and then studied the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Leeds. Before joining Pryers, Ian worked for a well-established legal aid law firm in Sheffield providing advice and casework on issues such as welfare benefits and employment law.
In 2012 Ian joined Pryers as a paralegal and completed his training contract with the firm in December 2015.
Outside of work Ian enjoys travel having most recently visited Cuba where he enjoyed horse riding through tobacco plantations and staying with local residents in casa particulares. He is also learning to speak Italian in a course for beginners at the University of York. Ian participates in the firm’s charity fundraising events having recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks and is currently in training for the Great North Run half marathon for the Spinal Injuries Association.
