Pryers Solicitors Win SIA Torch Challenge Trophy

On 6 June 2017 Pryers Solicitors LLP were awarded the SIA Torch Challenge Trophy from the Spinal Injuries Association.

SIA Torch Challenge Trophy

The SIA Torch Challenge Trophy recognises the exceptional fundraisings efforts of fundraisers working closely with the SIA.

Pryers Solicitors are delighted to be recognised nationally by the SIA for their fundraising work in 2016/2017.

The Spinal Injuries Association

The Spinal Injuries Association is Pryers Charity of the Year for 2017 with fundraising events taking place throughout the year.

Through our legal work, we have seen the life changing effects spinal cord injuries have on individuals and their families.

Pryers recognises the remarkable service the SIA provides, assisting and empowering people with spinal injuries through support, guidance, and education.

Pryers’ Fundraising Efforts

On 23rd April 2017, our Alistair Stokes pounded the pavements of Vienna as he took part in the city’s marathon for the SIA and in the process raised £2,151.00 in donations.

Alistair, however, was not the only member of Pryers fundraising in April 2017, as Rachael Davis, Charlotte Keelty, Ian Craig, June Plowman, Carmel Walsh, Lisa Whitworth, Jenny Di Sora, Deborah Ward, Chrissy Lambrou-Hulme, Marie Brasnett-Mellor and Laura Simpson all worked determinedly during April to raise funds for the SIA.

The Pryers LLP lawyers held a number of office-based events to raise money for the SIA, which included:

  • A Fizz Friday;
  • An Easter Egg Hunt;
  • An April Tuck shop;
  • A bake sale;
  • A charity raffle (with prizes kindly donated by numerous local York Businesses and Sunderland Football Club).

The team were delighted to raise £977.00 through their hard work.

In all Pryers has, so far, raised £3,131.00 for the SIA this year.

Pryers LLP continues to fundraise for the SIA this year with Andrew Hughes, Sophie Rudge, Robyn Hawxby and Rachael Davis all running the Leeds Half Marathon on 14 May 2017.
