Mrs E suffered an injury as a result of negligently carried out building works at her home. There were several potential defendants as many contractors had carried out the works. She sustained a serious fracture to her knee which required surgery and a long period of convalescence during which time she was unable to walk. She required a great deal of assistance both from family and professional carers.
